Les Gets is a linked ski resort within the Portes du Soleil. Lift passes can be purchased for Les Gets and the neighbouring area of Morzine, or for the wider Portes du Soleil. Combined, Les Gets and Morzine have 52 lifts and 66 pistes for all levels of ability.
The ski area in Les Gets consists of the principal Chavannes side, served by the main lifts from the village centre, and the smaller Mont Chéry side, served by a small white cable car.
The Chavannes ski area consists mainly of blue and red runs (beginner and intermediate). There are nursery areas both in the village and at the Chavannes mid-station, which is reached via the small “red egg” cable car.
In the area on the Chavannes side known as “The Bowl”, there are numerous ski runs and chairlifts. Here are the resort's most easily accessible black runs: Yeti accessed via the La Rosta chairlift and Myrtilles accessed by the Grains d'Or Express.
The snowpark is located on Mont Chéry. This has kickers, a spine, rails, boxes and a boarder cross. The park is served by a 2 man chairlift.
A bus or the Petit Train connects the two sides of Les Gets ski area, but it can take just as short a time to walk across the village.
Les Gets has an area of the mountain on the Chavannes side for children only at the Territoire du Grand Cry. This has two button lifts and several runs, all themed around trappers and Indians.
The Portes du Soleil region includes 12 Franco-Swiss resorts, 195 lifts and no less than 650km of pistes for your total enjoyment.
If you have any questions about the skiing in Les Gets, Morzine or further afield, please let us know.
Although most people come to Les Gets for the downhill skiing, there are many other activities to be enjoyed, including ice skating on the open-air rink in the village centre, sledging, paragliding from the top of Mont Chéry (see Summer in Les Gets for more details), dog sledding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or simply winter walking on pisted tracks. Please enquire if you wish to have further information about any of these.
There is a big Christmas Parade each year in the village, with Father Christmas or Père Nöel accompanied by the instructors of the ESF, and in January “La Grande Odyssée”, a long-distance dog-sled race attracting the world’s top mushers, crosses through Les Gets.
