Although Les Gets lies a little lower than some other resorts the snow record is very good. The pistes here are all pasture land, rather than the rocky terrain found at high altitude resorts, so it only takes a little snow to make the runs skiable rather than the metres required elsewhere. The joke is that you can ski on a heavy frost in Les Gets. We also have the benefit of having Avoriaz just around the corner for the very end of the season.
All of the resorts in the Portes de soleil have invested heavily in snow making machinery in recent years and the pistes are excellent as a result.
